Men's volleyball falls to Brescia in straight sets

MIDWAY, Ky. - Despite a determined effort, the Midway men's volleyball team was unable to overcome a strong Brescia squad on Friday night, falling in straight sets 25-15, 25-16, 25-17 at Marshall Gymnasium.

Midway (1-11, 0-7) came into the match looking for its first River States Conference victory but struggled to find consistency. The Eagles managed 25 kills but were hampered by 19 attack errors, finishing with a .080 hitting percentage.

Jai'Den Chinnis led the way with a team-high eight kills and three blocks, while setter Jordan Daily ran the offense with 21 assists and added five digs.

Defensively, Lincoln Anderson anchored the back row with six digs, while Steven Tippenhauer and Jose Conde chipped in key contributions at the net.

The Eagles are back on their home court tomorrow at 1 p.m. against another River States Conference opponent St. Mary of the Woods College (Ind.).
