MIDWAY, Ky. - Days after
a late two-out rally helped Midway baseball earn a thrilling win, the Eagles fell victim to one early on, as Campbellsville scored six times in the first inning to earn a 10-4 win at Tracy Farmer - Don Ball Stadium Tuesday afternoon.
Midway retired the first two batters before the Tiger offense caught fire, as the next nine batters reached base. The biggest blow came via a three-run home run by James Teets.
Barrett McGill and
Grant Hotchkiss both continued their recent hot streaks for the offense.
McGill had three RBIs, including a two-out single in the sixth, while Hotchkiss had two hits, two runs scored and an RBI.
The Eagles, who came into the day on a four-game win streak, fall to 6-9 on the season. After starting 3-0 in River States Conference play, they will travel to face defending league champion and NAIA No. 17-ranked Indiana Southeast this weekend.
Game one of the three-game set will begin at 2 p.m. Friday.
