MIDWAY, Ky. - Midway men's volleyball held a senior day celebration for
Steven Tippenhauer,
Jose Conde and
Jai'Den Chinnis prior to their final home match against River States ConferenceĀ opponent Rio Grande (Ohio) Saturday.
Chinnis led all players with 14 kills and also had a .524 hitting percentage, but Midway suffered a 25-16, 25-18, 25-18 loss to the Red Storm.
Chinnis also had a match-high four blocks and four digs. Tippenhauer added three kills with Conde adding three blocks and two kills.
Despite their efforts, the Red Storm held firm control throughout the match, holding a 40-23 kill advantage and recording 11 service aces to the Eagles' none.
Now 4-17 overall and 1-13 in the RSC, Midway will conclude the season with road matches at Brescia (Ky.) and St. Mary of the Woods (Ind.) next Friday and Saturday.
The Brescia match on Friday will begin at 8 p.m.
