MIDWAY, Ky. - Midway athletic trainer
Anthony Passarette has won his second major award in less than a month.
Passarette has been named Athletic Trainer of the Year by the River States Conference, the RSC announced Thursday afternoon.
"(Anthony) truly goes above and beyond what is necessary to make sure student-athletes receive the necessary care to remain healthy and stay active in their sport," Midway interim athletic director
Heath Morgan said in a statement. "He is always willing to come in early and stay late to make sure Midway's student-athletes receive their necessary treatment."
Passarette, who serves as the area coordinator for colleges and universities in the Lexington area,
was also named Athletic Trainer of the Year for colleges and universities by the Kentucky Athletic Trainers' Society in June.
He hopes to build further on his successes in the coming years.
"It's just kind of like one of those thing were I feel like there's still more that I can do," Passarette said. "So in a sense...it's very nice but not the end of the road. But I'm grateful and blessed to work with the people I work with."
This marks the first time someone from Midway has been the recipient of the River States Conference Trainer of the Year award.
