MIDWAY, Ky. - Quick scoring bursts in each half helped Campbellsville take a 4-2 win over Midway in an in-state, non-conference men's soccer matchup on Tuesday.
The scoring started with two goals in the first 10 minutes, both by Mark Holton, who scored 3:01 into the game, then recorded another goal 6:40 later.
The lead then doubled in the second half when Mihlali Blesi and Izan Garcai Gancedo netted goals in the span of 3:40.
The Eagles, who equaled the Tigers' 13 shot tally, scored twice late in the second half, with
Ben Banton having a hand in both goals.
Banton scored unassisted in the 77th minute, then assisted on a goal by
Miles Ezell with just over one minute remaining.
Now 1-3-1 on the season, Midway has one more game before the start of River States Conference play, as it will host Cincinnati Clermont (Ohio) at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
