OWENSBORO, Ky. - Midway had a highly productive trip to the USA Archery Indoor National Championships over the weekend, with five Eagles combining for seven top-10 finishes in their divisions.
Due to the a high number of nationwide competitors, the national tournament features numerous regional tournaments across the country. Final individual rankings will be announced once all tournaments conclude.
The highest finish of the weekend came from
Elizabeth Applegate, who finished second out of 16 shooters in the U21 barebow division with a final score of 905.
Applegate finished the first round in first place with a score of 244. She finished behind only Isabell Lehsten from the University of the Cumberlands, who had a final score of 921, in the final standings.
That score also got her an eighth-place overall finish in barebow collegiate women's competition.
Hannah Welts also got two top-10 finishes in recurve, finishing fourth in U21 and seventh in collegiate women with a score of 1,001.
Elsewhere,
Cody Fightmaster was fourth in fixed pin U18 men (1,146),
Kelli Booth was fifth in fixed pin women (1,158) and
Krissiana Mollette was ninth in barebow U21 women.
