LEBANON, Tenn. - Superior net play led Cumberland (Tenn.) to a 25-12, 25-17, 25-17 sweep of Midway in a River States Conference men's volleyball matchup on Tuesday.
The Eagles scored the first point of the match on an attack error, but that would be their only lead of the night.
Things were competitive for awhile in set one, with Midway getting within 12-11, before Cumberland responded by scoring the next 12 points and stayed in control the rest of the way.
The Phoenix outhit the Eagles .359 to .000 and had 44 kills to Midway's 16.
Jordan Daily finished with a team-high 13 assists for the 2-16 Eagles, who fall to 0-6 in River States Conference play.
Midway is back at home for a non-conference match against Defiance (Ohio) at 4 p.m. Friday.
