MIDWAY, Ky. - The size and athleticism of Georgetown was too much for Midway to overcome, as the Tigers defeated the Eagles 25-17, 25-18, 25-18 in a River States Conference men's volleyball match on Saturday.
Midway's best chance appeared to be in set two. The Eagles had the momentum well into the set, taking a 15-13 lead on a
Braden Cacek kill.
But Midway's last lead would be at 16-15, which was immediately followed by nine-straight Tiger points, three of them coming on Kristjan Unt service aces.
Cacek had a team-high seven kills, with Noah Ficther and
Jordan Daily both recording nine assists.
Lincoln Anderson tied all players with 11 digs for Midway, which is 2-14 overall with an 0-5 record in the RSC.
The Eagles will play another conference match at Cumberland (Tenn.) at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
