Eagles seek to reach new heights as NAIA National Championship begins Tuesday

YPSILANTI, Mich. -- After securing its second consecutive River States Conference Championship less than two weeks ago, the Midway women's golf team is set to begin play at the NAIA National Championship on Tuesday.

For the second consecutive season, the 31st Annual NAIA Women's Golf National Championship will be contested at Eagle Crest Golf Club in Ypsilanti, Michigan. This year's field features 30 teams and six individual qualifiers.

Play begins Tuesday with the opening round and continues Wednesday with round two. Following the second round, the field will be cut to the top 15 teams and ties, along with the top six individuals and ties not on a top-15 team.

The Eagles are making their second consecutive appearance at the NAIA National Championship and the seventh in program history. Midway earned its berth into the national championship after capturing the 2026 RSC Championship on May 5.

This year's squad is looking to accomplish something no Midway women's golf team has done before — make the cut as a team at the NAIA National Championship.

The Eagles will look to build off the momentum from the RSC Championship, where they completed a remarkable 30-shot turnaround over the final two rounds, turning a 10-shot deficit after round one into a 20-shot victory over IU East (Ind.).

Midway's lineup for the national championship remains the same as it was at the RSC Championship, where all five players earned All-Conference honors.

Kasey Cameron, Savannah Salchli, and Kelsay Collins each earned First Team All-Conference honors, while Cameron was named Golfer of the Year and Salchli earned conference medalist honors. Anna New and Anna Simpson, meanwhile, earned Second Team and Third Team honors, respectively.

For the opening two rounds of the national championship, the Eagles will be paired with Cumberland (Tenn.) and Rocky Mountain (Mont.). The three teams will tee off in the afternoon wave Tuesday on hole No. 1 before switching to the morning wave Wednesday on hole No. 10.

The 2026 NAIA Women's Golf National Championship will air on the Urban Edge Network and the NAIA Network, produced by The National Golf Network. Live results, leaderboards, and tournament statistics can be tracked through the Clippd Scoreboard.
