OXFORD, Ohio — Midway men's golf sophomore Eli Stamper has been named the River States Conference Men's Golfer of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.

Stamper earned the honor following a strong performance at the Pretty Lake Invitational, where he helped lead the Eagles to a third-place team finish.

The sophomore finished the three-round tournament at 5-under par, earning a spot in a playoff for the individual title before ultimately finishing runner-up.

After opening the tournament at even par, Stamper carded a 3-under 69 in the second round before closing with a 2-under 70 in the final round.

Stamper's performance helped Midway secure third place in the team standings.
