MIDWAY, Ky. — Midway women's volleyball returns to Marshall Gymnasium on Tuesday when the Eagles welcome Alice Lloyd for a non-conference matchup at 7 p.m.
Midway enters the contest at 2-13 overall and 0-2 in River States Conference play, while Alice Lloyd brings an 8-6 record to Midway. Tuesday begins a stretch in which the Eagles will play four of their next five matches at home.
The Eagles return home after falling in three sets at IU East on Friday. Midway improved its point total in each frame, dropping the opening set 25-16 before falling 25-20 and 25-23 in the final two sets.
Mayson Delong has provided production on both sides of the net for Midway. The sophomore has recorded 96 kills through 51 sets and leads the Eagles with 11 solo blocks. She has totaled 22 blocks and 112.5 points this season.
Midway has also received contributions from Nyla Gaines and Alyssa Medeiros in the attack. Medeiros has totaled 83 kills, while Gaines has added 67 and is hitting .141. Morgan Broderick has been another presence at the net, recording 23 total blocks, including seven solo blocks.
Mayme Powell leads the Eagles' setting efforts with 246 assists while also leading the team with 19 service aces. Peyton Osteen has added 179 assists and 10 aces. Defensively, Blair Riney leads Midway with 153 digs, while Marlee Laycock has collected 128.
Alice Lloyd enters the matchup averaging 9.74 kills per set and hitting .181 as a team. Taylor Baker has a team-high 106 kills while hitting .277, and Callie Butler has recorded 100 kills with a 2.78 kills-per-set average. Peyton Taylor has directed the offense with 356 assists and has added 15 service aces.
On the defensive side, Jadyn Hall leads Alice Lloyd with 164 digs, while Taylor has added 96. Alice Lloyd has totaled 647 digs this season and is averaging 13.77 per set.
Tuesday will mark the 20th meeting between the two programs. Midway owns a 19-0 record in the all-time series dating back to 2010 and has won each of the last nine meetings in straight sets.
First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. inside Marshall Gymnasium.
