LOUISVILLE, Ky. - A first-place finish by Caleb Marshall led a dominant performance by the Midway men's bowling team, which came out on top of the nine-team Bulldog Bash, hosted by Union College in Louisvillie over the weekend.
The Eagles' final score of 7,006 pins came in well ahead of runner-up University of the Cumberlands, which knocked down 6,655.
Out in front of the entire field was Marshall, who had a bash-best 838 total pins and 209.5 pins-per-game average. He was particularly strong in the final two games, where he rolled a 224 and 225 respectively.
Elsewhere on the varsity side, Charlie Smith came in 10th with 763 total pins, while Jackson Ryan was one position and one pin behind him.
The Eagle JV team also came in first with 6,130 pins, 24 more than runner-up Wright State (Ohio). The Eagles were led by the top two JV scorers of the tournament in Isiah Gordon (784) and Noah Seng (767). Gordon and Seng were joined on the JV All-Tournament Team by Ryan Tuite, who rolled a 699 over four games.
The Eagles return to action on Oct. 14-15, when they travel to Indianapolis for the C300 Western Shootout.
