Eagles Drop 4-3 Decision to No. 22 Campbellsville

VERSAILLES, Ky. – On Monday, the Midway men's tennis team welcomed No. 22 ranked Campbellsville (Ky.) to its temporary home at the Falling Springs Tennis Center. While the Eagles were able to split the singles matches, the visiting Tigers earned the doubles point and a 4-3 victory.

With the loss, Midway falls to 2-5 this season while Campbellsville improves to 7-8.

In doubles play, the duo of Lakshay Vivek (Haryana, India) and Julian Lopez (Bogota, Colombia) earned a 6-4 victory at the No. 2 slot. Campbellsville earned 6-4 wins in the two remaining doubles matches to claim the point.

In singles play, Lopez earned a hard fought 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 victory in the No. 2 position. At No. 3 singles, Paul Wamba (Dschang, Cameroon) earned a 6-2, 6-3 win while Vivek picked up a straight-set 6-4, 6-4 triumph at No. 5 singles to complete an undefeated day.

Coach Adam Malik's squad will return to action on Friday, March 24, when the Eagles will host Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio) at the Lexington Tennis Club. First serve is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. ET.
