COLUMBUS, Ohio - An All-Tournament performance by Caleb Kornosky and a tournament-best opening round by Charlie Smith paced the Midway men's bowling team, which took second place in the seven-team Welcome Back Tournament, held in Columbus, Ohio on Saturday and Sunday.
The Eagles finished with 9,506 total pins, second only to host Muskingum, which knocked down 9,833.
Smith set the tone when he opened play with the best individual round any player had all weekend, knocking down 289 pins. He finished the two-day tourney in sixth with a score of 1,962.
Kornosky was Midway's best per-game performer, averaging 233 pins, the third-best total of the tournament.
Also finishing in the to-15 was Logan Tincher, whose 1,801 pins were the 13th-most of the tournament.
On the JV side Joshua Nelson, made the All-Tournament team with an average of 204.2.
Midway will be off next week, but returns to action when it travels to Louisville for the Bulldog Bash on Sept. 30.
