MIDWAY, Ky. - The Midway hunt seat team came out on fire in its first home meet of the season, taking high point honors of the first day of the two-day Midway University Shows Saturday.
Midway followed that up by taking three first-place finishes and three second-place finishes on the second day Sunday.
SATURDAY
The Eagles were dominant in open flat competition Saturday.
Abbie Wright and Zoe Macbeth split first-place honors, while
Halley Moak came in second.
Reese Dorsey and
Ella Hutcherson also earned wins, Dorsey in intermediate flat, Hutcherson in novice.
Other runners-up Saturday were
Marinna Liedle, who placed second in the introductory division, and the pair of
Bronwyn Wright and
Sophia Quattrocchi, who split a second-place finish in limit flat.
SUNDAY
Wright and Dorsey were victorious again on Sunday, with Wright taking first in open over fences and Dorsey taking the top spot in intermediate over fences.
Cassandra Doucette got herself a win as well, placing first in limit over fences.
Sunday's runners-up were
Kayden Gundry (open flat),
Riley Whelan (intermediate flat) and
Alexis Williams (limit flat).
The Eagle hunt seat team isn't scheduled to be in competition again until Feb. 15-16, when it will host another round of Midway University Shows.
