INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Midway men's bowling team had a strong performance at the 78-team Hoosier Classic over the weekend, finishing the two-day tournament in 11th place.
The Eagles had an accumulative total of 8,809, scoring 6,038 in team competition and 2,771 in Baker.
Midway broke 1,000 pins three times in six games during team play, highlighted by a finish of 1,122 in game four.
As he has for much of the season, Caleb Marshall led the way, finishing 40th out of nearly 600 individual bowlers with 1,262 pins. He had the top finish of any bowler from the Mid-South Conference.
Marshall overcame a sluggish opening game with a 226 in game two, the first of five-consecutive 200-plus pin games he had.
Zach Dickerson had three 200-pin games to land just outside the top-50, taking 52nd with a score of 1,242. Logan Tincher also had a top-100 performance, tying for 91st with a 1,205.
The performance gives Midway a nice boost as it prepares for postseason play in under two weeks. The Eagles will travel to Bowling Green for the Mid-South Championships, which will run from Feb. 22-24.
