MIDWAY, Ky. - Midway didn't lose a set in singles play and won a total of eight sets 6-0 on its way to a 7-0 victory over Indiana East in a River States men's tennis matchup Friday.
No. 2 and 3 singles were each 6-0 wins for the Eagles, with Tyler Fox and German Collado winning in the second spot, Aditya Roy Chowdhury and Daniel Pinzon winning in the third.
In singles play, Midway dropped more than two games in just one set, with Izan Casado getting the most decisive win at No. 4, topping Bryson Hale 6-0, 6-0.
The Eagles lost just five total games in the top-two spots, with Axel Sperling beating Sebastian Torrealba 6-1, 6-0, and Collado taking down Kyle Hollingsworth 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2.
Chowdhury and Owen McCarter won by similar scores at Nos. 3 and 5. Chowdhury beat Jace Wilkerson 6-0, 6-1 with McCarter defeating Clay Conner 6-1, 6-0.
Fox rounded out the win at No. 6, beating Bryce Wennen 6-0, 6-4.
With the win, Midway gets back to .500 at 6-6 overall while improving to 2-0 in the RSC. The Eagles are on the road for their next matchup, a conference affair at Shawnee State (Ohio) at 2:30 p.m.
