Milligan tops Midway 5-2 in men's tennis

MILLIGAN, Tenn. - Axel Sperling and Aditya Roy Chowdhury earned wins at No. 3 and 6 singles respectively, but Milligan proved too strong otherwise in a 5-2 victory over Midway in a men's tennis match on Monday.

Roy made quick work of Brayden Kennedy at No. 6, as he cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 straight-set win.

Sperling had a more difficult time but was able to gut out a three-set win over Gabrijel Kajic. Sperling opened with a 6-3 win before Kajic responded by winning the second set 7-5.

Fortunatley, Sperling was able to respond in a lengthy third set, eventually rallying to win 7-6.

Midway will complete a stretch of three road matches in three days when it stays in Tennessee to face Emory & Henry at noon tomorrow.
