INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Midway women's bowling team was in action for the second straight weekend, placing 21st at the 29-team Columbia 300 Western Shootout, held in Indianapolis on Saturday and Sunday.
The Eagles rolled a 4,768 in team play and a 2,816 in Baker for a final tally of 7,584.
In a field of nearly 250 bowlers, Midway's top performer was freshman
Savanna Hoyt-Siler, who cracked the top-25 with a six-round score of 1,153, good for 23rd overall.
Hoyt-Siler, who finished with a per-game average of 192.17, came out strong with a 206 in the opener, then finished even better with a 233 in game six, the sixth-best score of any player in the round.
Maggie Coleman and
Kaitlyn McNutt also finished inside the top-100 for Midway. Coleman rolled a 1,012 to finish 68th with McNutt coming in 83rd with a 954.
Midway's best Baker game came in round one, where it recorded a 236, which was tied for the second-best score of the round.
The Eagles will be off for two weeks before going to Smyrna, Tenn. for a pair of tournaments. They'll take part in the Greater Nashville Open on Oct. 25 and the Brandon Burns Invitational Oct. 26.
