MIDWAY, Ky. - A short-handed Midway women's bowling team got a standout performance from
Maggie Coleman at the Tier-I Bowlero South Collegiate Classic over the weekend.
The Eagles finished 12th out of 14 teams with a score of 6,125. Midway had a 3,726 in team play and a 2,399 in Baker.
Coleman finished eighth overall with a 993 and a five-game, 198.6 average.
The highlight was a fantastic, 289-pin showing in game four. This was by far the best single-round score of the weekend, the second best being a 266 by Madelynn Olivia of Alabama-Birmingham.
The 289 tied the team record for high singles game, equaling the mark of Taylor Petrey at the Mid-South Indianapolis Collegiate Classing in 2020.
Other Eagles to finish in the top 50 were
Kaitlyn McNutt (39th, 820 pins) and
Savanna Hoyt-Siler (50th, 738).
Midway also eclipsed 200 pins in the 12th Baker game, finishing with a 211.
The Eagles return to play on Nov. 14-16 at the NAIA BCA Invitational.
