KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Midway ran against five nationally ranked teams at the NAIA Appalachian Cross Country Challenge on Friday, with the Eagles coming in 15th in an 18-team field with 420 points.
No. 2 Milligan (Tenn) came out on top with 31 points while No. 3 Cumberlands was second with 78. No. 14 SCAD Savannah (Ga.), No. 25 Rio Grande and No. 21 Montreat (N.C.) came in positions 3-5.
Stevie McSorley and
Ariah Egleston both placed in the top-100. McSorley ran a 19:52.91 to finish 80th while Egleston was 92nd in 20:18.79.
Others to score for Midway were
Macy Adams in 128th (21:24.41),
Riley Gillis in 136th (21:38.93) and
Alarra Cobbins in 177th (27:24.56).
Next up for the Eagles is the postseason, as the River States Conference Cross Country Championships will take place in Rio Grande, Ohio on Nov. 8.
