MIDWAY, Ky. -- The men's and women's cross-country teams will participate in the Louisville Cross Country Classic on Saturday at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Kentucky.
The Eagles will compete across two races on Saturday. Carson Milner will represent Midway in the Gold Race, while the remainder of the men's and women's teams will compete in the Silver Race.
Milner enters the weekend after a strong start to his senior season. He opened the year with a runner-up finish at the Indiana Wesleyan Twilight, completing the 6K course in 18:33.7.
Last week, the men's team finished first, while the women's team finished second at their home invitational.
The men finished with three runners in the top 10. Jonathan Kocis led the Eagles with a time of 28:10.23, placing fifth. Chance Collins finished right behind Kocis in sixth place, while Riley Morris came in seventh with a final time of 28:24.81.
Lexus Ralph led the way for the Eagle women, finishing third overall with a time of 25:50.40. Katelynn Gaddis was the other Eagle to earn a top-10 finish.
Connor Byrd, Lance Logan and Kocis are all looking to build on strong showings at last year's race in Louisville. All three finished in the top 100 in a competitive field.
The last time the Eagle women competed in Louisville, they placed 12th.
