OXFORD, Ohio — Midway University's Lexus Ralph has been named the River States Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week following a career-best performance at the Louisville Classic.
Ralph led the way for the Eagles in the Women's Silver 5K on Saturday in Louisville, Kentucky, crossing the finish line in 20:00.2 to place 24th overall.
The senior's performance marked a new personal record in the 5K as she shaved 49 seconds off her previous career best.
Ralph's career-best performance also helped lead the Eagles to an eighth-place team finish. Midway finished with 240 points and had three runners place inside the top 35.
The weekly honor adds to a strong season for Ralph, who has consistently been among Midway's top finishers. She also led the Eagles at the Midway Invitational on Sept. 18, finishing third overall.
Ralph and the Eagles will continue preparations for the River States Conference Championship, which is scheduled for Nov. 7 in Terre Haute, Indiana.
