SMYRNA, Tenn. - A star emerged from the junior varsity ranks as Midway bowling made some history in its first conference action of the 2025-26 season over the weekend.
The Eagles finished 9th at the MSC Music City Classic on Saturday and eighth at the Brandon Burns Memorial Tournament Sunday, with JV bowler
Raymond Atkins taking medalist honors at the later event.
Midway also made program history in Baker play at the Burns event, recording a best-ever single-round score of a 290.
BRANDON BURNS
Atkins led all bowlers with a score of 952 and a four-game average of 238, coming in ahead of Landin Jordan of the SCAD Savannah (Ga.), who had a 936 and 234.
Atkins set the tone from the start, leading all bowlers with an opening-round 270 while eclipsing 200 pins in all four games.

The 290 was not only a program record, but also the best round of any team the entire weekend.
In the 17-team varsity competition, the Eagles rolled a 3,974 in individual play and 1,666 in Baker for a final tally of 5,640.
Seng and Tincher both cracked the top-25 for the varsity squad, Seng rolling an 844 (211 average) to finished 22nd, Tincher an 839 (209.8) to take 25th.
Elsewhere in the top-100, Worthington (JV), was 57th with a 787, Biehn (varsity) was 71st with a 761, Heyton Looney (JV) was 79th with a 746,
Ethan Waters (JV) was 82nd with a 738 and Jonathan Hatcher (varsity) was 98th with a 657.
MUSIC CITY CLASSIC
The Eagles got a fifth-place, 910-pin performance from Smith on Saturday, highlighting a tournament where they rolled a 3,852 in team play and 1,489 in Baker for a 5,111 final tally.
Smith was over 200 pins in all four games, including a 236 in the opener and a 244 in the closer. His four-game average was 227.5.
Elsewhere in the varsity ranks, Tincher was 39th with a 795 and Hatcher was 47th in a 774.
JV bowlers in the top 100 were Atkins (42nd, 789), Looney (63rd, 743), Worthington (75th, 688) and
Christopher Smith (81st, 665).
The Eagles return to action next Saturday and Sunday, competing at the Bowlero Southern Collegiate Shootout, a Tier-I tournament in Marietta, Ga.
