FOLEY, Ala. - Midway archery concluded the fall portion of its season with a 13th-place finish at the USA Archery Collegiate 3D Nationals held over the weekend.
The Eagles ended competition Saturday with a final score of seven points.
Midway's top performer in the ranking rounds was
Elizabeth Applegate, who had a strong third-place showing in the barebow college women's division with a two-round score of 360. After recording a 155 in the first round, Applegate spiked to a 183, the second-best, second-round score of the 68-shooter class.
She was one of two top-10 finishes for the Eagles, with
Kelli Booth getting the other in fixed pin college women's action, where she placed eighth with a score of 395.
Applegate and Booth were part of Midway's best showings in the mixed team competition as well. Applegate and
Philip Thompson were 12th in barebow with a 543, with Booth and
Cody Fightmaster scoring 749 to take 16th in fixed pin.
The Eagles are now off until 2026, when they travel to Madisonville, Ky. for the Mid-South Indoor Regional Tournament on Jan. 16-18.
