MADISONVILLE, Ky. - The Midway archery team placed fourth in four team events, earning itself a sixth-place overall finish at the Mid-South Conference Indoor Championships, which concluded on Sunday.
Fourth-place teams were
Hannah Welts,
Emily Phillips and
Tori Belcher in recurve women;
Elizabeth Applegate,
Krissiana Mollette and
Kimberly Mattingly in barebow women;
Philip Thompson,
Cody Fightmaster and
Caleb Revel in fixed pins men and
Kelli Booth,
Hannah Marion and
Madi Wilson in fixed pins women.
Individually, the Eagles had four top-10 showings in Friday's ranking round, led by Welts' fifth-place showing in recurve women's competition. Welt finished with a two-round score of 531.
Elsewhere,
Kelli Booth and Terri Applegate finished seventh in fixed pins and with respective scores of 290 and 225. Joining Welts in recurve was
Emily Phillips, who placed 10th with a 251.
Midway will be off two weeks before traveling to Owensboro for the Indoor National Championships on Jan. 31-Feb. 1.
