WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. - Midway sophomore
Kelli Booth was in All-American form to open the 2025-26 season, winning gold in the fixed pin women's division at the Mid-South 3D Championships on Saturday.
Booth had a hand in all three medals won by the Eagles, who finished sixth at the 10-team tournament with a score of 27.
Fresh off
an All-American finish a season ago, Booth tied for the top seed in the division in a qualifying round Friday, then jumped out ahead with a running score of 52 through five rounds in competition Saturday.
Down by as many as seven early on, Cumberlands' Hannah Summers made a furious charge by getting high-round scores of 14 in both the fifth and sixth rounds, but Booth held her off by the narrowest of margins, 64-63.
Booth was also part of two third-place team finishes on Saturday. She and
Cody Fightmaster earned bronze in fixed pins mixed competition while her,
Jessica Badgett and
Madi Wilson were third in the fixed pins women's division.
Midway also got points in the barebow college women's division, where
Elizabeth Applegate,
Kimberly Mattingly and
Krissiana Mollette finished fourth.
The Eagles are back at it on Oct. 2-4, when they travel to the USA Archery Collegiate 3D Nationals in Foley, Ala.
