WILMINGTON, Ohio - A total of five riders took first place in a combined six events, as the Midway western team finished third on both the first and second days of the season-opening Wilmington College Shows, which concluded on Sunday.
Coming away in first place twice was
Tate Gill, who took the top spot in open horsemanship on both Saturday and Sunday, with teammate
Alana Utlak taking the second spot in Sunday's competition.
Kaylee Klein finished first in level-two horsemanship on Saturday, with
Zaida Wondrash getting the runner-up spot in beginner horsemanship.
Other winners on Sunday were
Allison Kratzer in ranch riding,
Sofia Getty in level-one horsemanship and
Emily Sue Watts in rookie A horsemanship.
Klein was also second in level-two horsemanship while
Elizabeth Ulbricht was second in rookie B.Â
Midway has just one more show in 2025, traveling to Morehead State on Nov. 22-23.
