INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Midway bowling had one last highly competitive tune-up before the Mid-South Championships, as the men and women traveled to Indianapolis for the Columbia 300 Hoosier Classic over the weekend.
The Eagle women placed 48th out of 66 teams while the men were 60th in a 78-team field.
The best showing of the weekend came by
Ryan Tuite, who finished 37th out of over 500 competitors with a 1,058 score and 211.6 average in five games.
Tuite was on fire in his first and last games, opening with a 257 and closing with a 237.
Jackson Ryan and
Logan Tincher cracked the top-200. Ryan finished in the 172nd spot with a 929 (185.8 average) while Tincher was 182nd with a 918 (183.6)
Gabrielle Gill had the top showing on the women's side, finishing 100th out of more than 400 bowlers with a five-game score of 934 and an average of 186.6. Gill's best game was her last, where she rolled a 215.
Also making the top-200 were
Afton Lords in 148th (865 pins, 173 average), Hailey Bennett (854, 170.8) and
Arianna Peter (816, 163.2).
The postseason now awaits as Midway travels to Bowling Green for the Mid-South Championship which begin on Thursday and close Saturday. The Eagle women are the No. 3 seed while the men earned the No. 6 spot.
