OXFORD, Ohio - Five riders qualified for IHSA Regionals as Midway hunt seat had another productive weekend at the Miami University Shows on Saturday and Sunday.
Zoe Macbeth (open flat),
Riley Whelan (intermediate flat),
Sydney Wright (limit flat),
Marinna Liedle (introductory) and
Emily Sue Watts (introductory) all locked up regional spots as the Eagles won a combined four events over two days of competition.
DAY ONE
Wright secured the Eagles' lone win on Saturday, taking first in limit flat.
Midway also had second-place finishes from Ann Graves in introductory, Macbeth in intermediate over fences and Jojo Rodriguez in limit over fences.
Among regional qualifiers, Whelan was third in intermediate flat, Macbeth tied for fourth in open flat and Liedle was fourth in introductory.
DAY TWO
Midway came out on top in three events Sunday, with Macbeth and Watts winning at open flat and introductory respectively.
The other victory came in the pre-novice division by
Katherine Chairez, while four other riders came in second.
Rodriguez earned a second-straight second-place showing in limit over fences, Whelan was second in intermediate over fences,
Sophia Quattrocchi was second in limit flat and
Reese Dorsey was the runner-up in intermediate flat.
Midway will host the IHSA Hunt Seat Regionals on March 22.
