Midway Golf teams set to open fall season on Monday in Georgia

MIDWAY, Ky. -- After winning both conference championships last season, the Midway golf teams are set to begin their title defense on Monday, August 25, at the Reinhardt Eagle Invitational in Waleska, Ga.

For both squads, the two-day tournament is the opener of the fall season and is the first of five tournaments this fall. Both the men's team and the women's team received votes in preseason polls released by the NAIA Friday.

MEN'S GOLF

The Eagles are coming off their fourth River States Conference Championship after making a furious rally in the final round to secure a two-shot victory for WVU Tech.

The 2025-26 team features several newcomers as well as some familiar faces who will need to step up and fill the void left by Jack Bedell and Hayes Mason, who had the two best scoring averages on the team last year.

Gage Gregory (75.46), a Second Team All-Conference performer last season is back for his senior season and is joined by Benjamin Spencer, who posted a 78.04 scoring average in 2024-25.

Tristan Mitchell, who appeared in 23 rounds and posted a 77.91 scoring average last season, is also back, while Caden Less (77.63) and Zach Ousley (79.50), return after posting averages in the 70s as well.

WOMEN'S GOLF

Like the men, the women's team also reclaimed their spot atop the River States Conference last year after bringing home a seven-shot victory over IU East (Ind.).

Headlining the list of returners for the women's squad is Kasey Cameron, the reigning RSC Golfer and Newcomer of the Year. Cameron capped off her fantastic freshman campaign by making the cut at nationals and shooting a 1-over 73 in the final round.

Savannah Salchli, a two-time Second Team All-Conference member is also back after carding an 84.28 scoring average last season.

Anna New (86.09) and Kelsay Collins (86.88) are each back after appearing at nationals last season, while Cameron Allen (86.22) returns for her senior season.
