Women's tennis wins five matches at Georgetown Invitational

GEORGETOWN, Ky. - New Midway tennis coach Roscoe Moonieyan began his tenure with the women's program at the Georgetown Invitational on Sunday, where the Eagles won a combined five matches against Thomas More and Georgetown.

The Eagles went 3-4 in singles play, with wins earned by Caitlin Wright, Tanit Cevada and Alicia Sanglas

Wright beat Presley Grant 8-6, Cevada topped Ella Cason 8-4 and Sanglas defeated Cason 6-2.

Midway also went 1-2 in doubles, with Haley Thompson and Raigan Allbert coasting to a 6-0 win against Sara Miller and Charisma Massey.

VS. GEORGETOWN

The Eagles and Tigers played three doubles matches, with Cevada and Sanglas securing a win for Midway.

The duo topped Molly Archer and Abby Moss 6-3.

Midway will be back to Georgetown on Sept. 25-29 for the ITA Southeast Regionals.
