MIDWAY, Ky. - Midway's
Ben Banton has been named River States Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon.
This is the first career weekly award for the senior from Franklin, Ky., who had two goals and an assist in two games during the week.
The highlight was what proved to be a game-winning goal against Cincinnati Clermont on Saturday, as he broke a scoreless tie in the 55th minute
in what became a 2-0 Eagle win.
Banton is the second Eagle to win Offensive Player of the Week this season, the first going to
Rhys Dickson on Sept. 1.
Midway, which is now 2-3-1 on the season, opens River States Conference play at home against Saint Mary of the Woods at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
