MIDWAY, Ky. – Midway University's Apex Legends team continued to build momentum in Week Two of the Octane Collegiate Apex Legends Tournament.
Following a solid opening performance last week, the Eagles returned to competition and improved upon their previous results. The team placed 11th overall in a field of 20 teams, earning 28 points. Across six matches played on Saturday, Brayden Goins, Sebastian Lopez Leon and Ethan Ouimette each improved upon their performances from the previous week.
Goins, the team's in-game leader and a graduate student, once again delivered a consistent performance, leading the Eagles with 10 eliminations, 14 knockdowns and 4,444 total damage across the six matches.
Lopez Leon, the team's designated anchor and recon player, contributed 14 assists across the matches. His performance supported the team's overall efforts as the Eagles continued to develop their strategies and coordination.
Ouimette, a new addition to the roster this semester, recorded seven eliminations and three assists while averaging 646 damage per match. His contributions marked a positive step forward as he continued to gain experience competing alongside his teammates.
With improved individual performances and continued progress in the standings, the Eagles will look to carry their momentum into the coming weeks. Communication, strategic development and consistency will remain important as the team works toward stronger results.
The Eagles' next competition is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17, when they will face a new field of competitors.
