Bowling Set for Mid-South Conference Tournament

SMYRNA, Tn. - Midway University's men's and women's bowling teams will return to competition on October 24 at the Mid-South Conference tournaments in Smyrna, Tennessee.

Following a strong showing at the Columbia 300 Western Shootout, both teams will look to carry their momentum into conference competition.

On the men's side, Raymond Atkins will lead the Eagles into the tournament after capturing the individual championship at the Columbia 300 Western Shootout. Atkins recorded an impressive average of 236.5 pins per game and will look to maintain that level of performance against conference opponents. He will be joined by teammates Charlie Smith, Vincent Biehn, Johnathan Hatcher, Damon White, and Kasin Bishop, who helped Midway secure a ninth-place finish out of 30 teams at the previous tournament.

The men's lineup enters conference competition with several consistent individual performers. Smith averaged 207.2 pins per game, Biehn averaged 203.2, Hatcher averaged 188.5, White averaged 213.0, and Bishop averaged 182.0. White also recorded a tournament-high single-game score of 277. These performances provide a foundation for the Eagles as they prepare to compete against conference opponents.

The women's team will also look to build on its recent progress, led by Avery Reeves. Reeves finished eighth individually at the Columbia 300 Western Shootout, recording an average of 202.8 pins per game and a high score of 246. She will return to the lanes alongside Kaitlyn McNutt, Jayden Fultz, Olivia Weleski, and Madison Blankenship as the Eagles aim to continue improving their results.

McNutt, Fultz, Weleski, and Blankenship each averaged more than 160 pins per game at the previous tournament. McNutt recorded a notable score of 194 in her final game, adding to the group's experience heading into conference competition. The women's team finished 15th overall at the Western Shootout and will look to build on that performance against a competitive conference field.

Midway will face Bethel, Campbellsville, Cumberland, Cumberlands, Freed-Hardeman, Georgetown, Lindsey Wilson, Pikeville, and Shawnee State at the Mid-South Conference tournaments. With both teams bringing recent competitive experience and strong individual performances into the event, the Eagles will look to establish momentum and continue their progress throughout the season.
