MIDWAY Ky. -- The Women's Golf Team will compete in the River States Conference (RSC) Fall Preview at the Glade Springs Resort in Daniels, W. Va on Monday
Last week at the Orange and Black Collegiate, the women finished fifth out of eight total teams.
Kasey Cameron will look to continue her successful season as she had another strong outing in last week's tournament. Cameron's 15-over par was enough to finish fourth overall last week. She started out hot, shooting a 73 (+3) in the first round.
Anna Simpson and Savannah Salchli were not far behind Cameron. They both tied for eighth for individual golfers. Salchli finished strong as she shot a two-over in the final round.
Head coach Otis Smith is eager for his team in their quest for another conference championship, both returning and the new faces.
"...we have three returning players from the conference champion lineup returning," said coach Smith, "and two new players getting an opportunity to play in the top-5."
Cameron, Salchii, and Simpson are the women returning who all placed in the top 5 last year for the conference championship. They all received conference honors as well. Kyrie Dickenson and Reese Romer will look to fill in the gap for the last two spots that were lost.
Lydia Young and Mackenzie Ensminger are playing as individuals to get valuable experience on the course for the spring conference championship.
