OXFORD, Ohio - Midway western concluded the regular season as the reserve high-point team in the region, following a strong showing at the Miami University (Ohio) Shows over the weekend.
The Eagles were reserve high-point team on Saturday and by weekend's end,
Tate Gill (open),
Zaida Wondrash-Leclaire (beginner) and
Amelia Lee (level two) all earned regional spots in their respective horsemanship divisions.
SATURDAY
Wondrash-Leclaire was one of three Midway riders to take first-place in their division Saturday, as she won in beginner horsemanship.
Others to finish in first were
Courtney Donovan in rookie B horsemanship and
Allison Kratzer in level-two ranch riding.
Emily Steinberg was right behind Wondrash-Leclair in beginner while Lee finished second in reining.
SUNDAY
Wondrash-Leclair and Donovan were back on the first-place podium again Sunday, each repeating their wins from day one.
They were joined by
Dorothy McMillen, who took first in rookie A horsemanship.
In second place in level-two horsemanship was
Lauren Arens-Ennis.
UP NEXT
Midway had 11 riders qualify for the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association Regional Tournament, which will be held next Saturday at Morehead State University.
