MARIETTA, Ga.- The Midway men's golf team opened its 2026-27 campaign with a seventh-place finish at the Eagle's Open in Marietta, Georgia.

The Eagles finished the three-round tournament at 37-over-par. Midway opened the tournament with a 10-over performance in the first round before improving with an 8-over second round. The Eagles closed the tournament with a 19-over final round.

Eli Stamper led the way for Midway, putting together an impressive performance to earn a top-10 finish. Stamper finished ninth after shooting even-par for the tournament. After opening with a 2-over round, Stamper responded with his best performance of the tournament in the second round, firing a 3-under score. He closed the tournament at 1-over in the final round to finish at even-par overall.

Tristan Mitchell also turned in a strong showing for the Eagles, finishing 13th at 3-over-par. Mitchell entered the final round at 4-under after shooting below par in each of the first two rounds before carding a 7-over score in the final round.

Freed-Hardeman's Drew Massengale claimed the individual title after an impressive three-round performance, finishing at 13-under-par.

Tournament host Reinhardt captured the team championship and was the only team in the field to finish below par. The Eagles finished the tournament at 21-under to claim the title.

Midway returns to the course on Sept. 7 when it competes in the IWU Wildcat Fall Invite at the Ackerman-Allen Course in West Lafayette, Indiana.
