MIDWAY, Ky. - The Eagles scored 10 seconds into the contest, but the Tigers responded and won Sunday's match 3-1 at Midway Turf Field.
Chloe Kemper wasted no time recording her fourth tally of the season. Midway kicked off the match and tried to pin the Tigers in their own corner. After a misplay, Addison Hazlett won the ball, found Kemper and sent the screamer over the goalkeeper's head for the opening goal just 10 seconds into the match.
Georgetown had an answer four minutes later as Morgan Imhoff equalized for the Tigers. Faith Burnside found the back of the net in the 17th minute to give Georgetown a 2-1 advantage. The Tigers controlled play most of the way.
Sophie Paul added to the Georgetown lead in the 60th minute as she chipped Lilly Riordan to make it 3-1.
Georgetown went on to win the contest. Olivia York earned her second win of the season, making three saves on four shots on frame. Kyla Garner and Maud Ceulemans picked up assists in the contest.
Riordan took the loss and moved to 1-2-0 on the season.
With the win, Georgetown moved to 2-1-2 on the season. With the loss, the Eagles dropped their third straight and fell to 2-3-0.
UP NEXT
The Eagles will be on the road for their next two contests. The road trip starts with a contest against Campbellsville (RV) Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
