Eagles Get Shut Out in Home Opener

MIDWAY, Ky. -- The University of Saint Francis dominated Midway 5-0 in their non-conference match at Midway Turf Field on Monday morning.  
 
Saint Francis striker Rezik Duhbar scored a brace. He came off the Cougars bench and registered one goal in the first half, then finished it with another one in the 84th minute. 
 
The winning goalkeeper Kevin Wachiaya Onelius is credited with the clean sheet, tallying three saves in the match. 
 
Midway started off the game hot, putting pressure on the Cougars. In the 2nd minute, Eagles forward Elijah Orren put a shot on net that was stopped by Onelius. 
 
The Cougars found more opportunities the rest of the match. They finished with 10 shots on goal compared to Midway's three. George Spencer led the Eagles in shots on goal with two. 
 
Saint Francis's other three goals came from an opening goal from Juan Zapata Rodrigo in the 33rd minute, a goal in the first six minutes of the second half by Nicolás Balbin, and a Rodrigo Santos goal in the 79th minute, 
 
Midway falls to 0-1-1 on the young season. Saint Francis moves to 3-2-1. 
 
Midway's next match will be Wednesday, Sept. 9 at Midway Turf Field as they will take on Rochester Christian University at 1:00 PM
