Georgetown, Ky. -- The Midway University women's soccer team played their final non-conference game of the season on Monday night when they traveled to nearby Georgetown (Ky.) to take on the Tigers in Toyota Stadium.
The Tigers (10-5-2) blitzed the Eagles early and often as they scored eight goals in the first half to take an 8-0 lead into the locker room. Georgetown scored five more goals in the second half to walk away with the 13-0 win.
Georgetown dominated play throughout the final stat sheet showed. The Tigers tallied 49 total shots with 36 of those coming on goal. The Eagles (7-5-1), on the other hand, failed to tally a shot.
Sophomore, Rebekah McKee (Rossville, Ind.) started and played the first half in goal for the Eagles. She allowed eight goals and made 16 saves. Freshman, Sarah Underwood (Nicholasville, Ky.) played the second half in goal and allowed five goals, while making seven saves.
The Eagles will return to action on Tuesday, October 31, when they host Cincinnati Christian (Ohio) in their regular season finale for Senior Day. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET at the Midway Soccer Field and Senior Day festivities will take place before the game.
