MIDWAY, Ky. -- Midway University baseball coach, Luther Bramblett, announced a late addition to the schedule that will take place on Tuesday, February 27.
Bramblett announced late Monday afternoon that his team will host Union College in a single nine-inning game at 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday at Chandler Field as part of Midway's home opener.
A break in the weather will allow the Bulldogs and the Eagles to meet on Tuesday. Weather has played a major role in Midway's season thus far as they have had to either cancel or postpone ten games this season.
These same two teams met in a doubleheader last Tuesday (February 20) down in Barbourville, Kentucky. Union came away as the victors in the first game winning 9-3, while Midway split the doubleheader after winning the second game 6-5.
Midway is coming off one of their best performances of the season that saw them sweep a doubleheader from the University of Pikeville on Sunday. The Eagles squeaked out a pair of one run victories, winning 3-2 and 2-1. Midway is now 4-9 on the season.
Since last week's doubleheader, Union is also 2-0. This past Friday, the Bulldogs swept a doubleheader from Trinity Christian College to push their record to 6-3 on the young season.
First pitch is set for 4 p.m. ET at Chandler Field. Live stats and live video will be provided for the game.
