Logan Conn garners another RSC Men's Golfer of the Week honor

MIDWAY, Ky. -- The River States Conference office announced on Monday (April 26) that Logan Conn of the Midway men's golf team had earned another RSC Men's Golfer of the Week honor this time for the week of April 19-25.

The weekly honor is the third of the season for Conn, while it is the fourth of his career. He also earned the honor last week on April 19 after earning his first honor of the season during the fall for the week of Sept. 28-Oct. 4.

Conn, a senior from Prestonsburg, Ky., earns the honor following his performance last week at the RSC Championship on the par-71, 6,742-yard Belterra Resort Golf Course.

The senior played the opening two rounds at even par following a 1-over 72 in the first round and a 1-under 70 in the second. Trailing by two entering the final round, Conn made his move over the final 18 holes

He fired a 2-under 69 in the third round to force a playoff with Jake Miller of IU East (Ind.). Conn would go on to make par in the first hole of the playoff, while Miller made bogey as Conn sealed medalist honors at the championship after winning the playoff.

Not only did Conn earn medalist honors following his 2-under 211 overall, but he was also named the Men's Golfer of the Year to go with his First Team All-Conference honor.

Conn's performance fueled his team to a 34-shot victory as they claimed their first RSC Championship in program history. As a team, the Eagles carded a 54-hole score of an 893 (303-297-293) to cruise to a 34-shot victory over IU East who took home runner-up honors.

The Midway men's golf team is scheduled to return to action on May 18-21 when they travel to Silvis, Ill. To compete in the NAIA Men's Golf National Championship at TPC Deere Run.
