MIDWAY, Ky. – This past week, the Midway University esports team looked to continue its winning ways in the five matches scheduled. The Rocket League team picked up a 3-0 victory over the Bradley University (Ill.) Black squad while the Call of Duty team suffered its first loss of the season and Overwatch picked up a win and a loss.

With the wins, the Eagles have improved to a 14-5 overall record this season.

Rocket League improved its record to 5-0 with its 3-0 victory against the Braves. The team was led offensively by Trevor Alexander (Somerset, Ky.) who scored six goals to go along with a pair of assists. .

Lonnie W. Loveless III (Somerset, Ky.) championed the defensive effort with four saves to go along with two goals and three assists. Nate Martin (Pickerington, Ohio) contributed four goals, one assist and one save in the winning effort.

Overwatch played a pair of games this past week and compiled a 1-1 record. The Eagles first claimed a 3-0 forfeit victory over State University of New York Rouge before suffering a 3-1 loss to Catawba College (N.C.).  With the win, Overwatch improves to 3-1 on the campaign.

Call of Duty also took part in a pair of matches. After picking up a 3-1 victory over Queens University (N.C.), the Eagles suffered their first loss of the season when they fell to Western University (Ont.) by a score of 3-1.

The League of Legends team was not in action as its match was postponed to a 6 p.m. start on Sunday, October 23.

Coach Alyssa Tinker's squadron of gamers return to action on Friday, October 21 when Rocket League takes on Hocking College at 7 p.m. In addition to their Sunday match, League of Legends will play Defiance College (Ohio) on Wednesday, October 26 at 8 p.m.  The Overwatch team will play SUNY Potsdam (N.Y.) at 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 27. The Call of Duty team has the week off as their scheduled opponent has forfeited. All esports matches can be viewed on  http://www.twitch.tv/midwayuniversity.
