MIDWAY, Ky. – As the month of March comes to a close, the Midway esports team continued to pick up victories at a dizzying rate. The Eagles accumulated a record of 3-1 with Overwatch, Rocket League and League of Legends each recording single wins.

With the victories, the Eagles have compiled an overall record of 47-38 for the academic year.

The week began with a scheduled Rocket League double header on Friday, March 24. Against Bethel (Tenn.) the Eagles suffered a 3-0 defeat for their only loss of the week. Midway was able to even its record later in the evening by picking up a victory by forfeit.

On Wednesday evening, the League of Legends took to the screens for a battle with Samford (Ala.). The Blue and Gold earned a hard-fought 2-1 victory over the Bulldogs with Lonnie Loveless III (Somerset, Ky.)  leading the attack with 26 kills.

Savanna Neace (Cynthiana, Ky.) recorded 20 kills while Riley Ogden (Lawrenceburg, Ky.) chipped in with 16. Madison Ward (Cynthiana, Ky.) led her squad with 17 assists and Kyle Standifur (Pikeville, Ky.) notched 13.

On Thursday, the Overwatch squad faced off with Defiance (Ohio) and soared to a 3-0 sweep. Neace led the way with 73 kills and 25,486 of damage while Trevor Alexander (Somerset, Ky.) and Hunter Yeager (Sulphur, Ky.) each picked up 64 kills. On the healing front, Loveless put up a team-high 26,987 while Ward contributed 14,567.

With the upcoming holidays, Midway esports has another light week on the schedule. Rocket League opens things up at 7 p.m. ET on Friday, March 31 when it takes on Defiance.

The Call of Duty squad will return to action on Tuesday, April 4 when it takes part in a pair of last chance qualifiers. The Blue and Gold will take on Trine (Ind.) at 9 p.m. ET before playing Eastern Michigan at 10:30 p.m. ET. The Overwatch team will pick up a forfeit while League of Legends has the week off.
