MIDWAY, Ky. -- Midway University has announced the hiring of Kennedy Mang as the head coach of the volleyball programs at Midway University.
"We are excited to welcome Coach Mang to Midway University," said Interim Athletic Director, Jake Brumbelow. "Her enthusiasm and passion stood out with the search committee. We look forward to watching our volleyball programs grow under her leadership."
Mang takes over the volleyball programs at Midway following a two-year stint at Trinity International (Ill.), where she served as the assistant coach for the women's program and associate head coach of the men's program.
Mang helped lead the Trojans to 51 victories in her two seasons which included a 30-9 mark in 2022. That season saw the Trojans win the 2022 NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association) National Championship.
Because of her efforts last season, Mang was voted the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Assistant Coach of the Year. She was also awarded the Mideast Assistant Coach of the Year by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).
Mang also has experience coaching at the club level including the Barren River Area Volleyball Organization (BRAVO) in Kentucky and the Lakes Region Volleyball Club in New Hampshire.
"I am extremely excited to be part of the Midway University community," noted Mang. "I am humbled by the opportunity to coach these young men and women and continue to build on the success of the Midway volleyball programs."
Mang added, "I am thankful to the Midway administration for this opportunity, as well as my family and friends who have supported me along the way. I'm excited to get started. Go Eagles."
Prior to joining the coaching ranks, Mang enjoyed a successful playing career at Plymouth State (N.H.), an NCAA Division III institution in New Hampshire.
She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Plymouth State University before earning her Master of Science in Recreation and Sports Administration from Western Kentucky University.
