OXFORD, Ohio - The Midway western equestrian team had an excellent showing at the Miami (Ohio) University shows last weekend, tying for high point team honors of both days of the two-day competition.
DAY ONE
Four Midway riders took first in their divisions on the opening day.
Level-one horsemanship was divided into two splits, both of which were won by Eagles.
Audrey Mosby won split one with
Kaitlyn Burns winning split two.
Other winners were
Isabel Billings in rookie B horsemanship and
Sadie Tullock in level-two horsemanship. Midway also got runner-up performances from Kayla Lawson (ranch riding) and
Tate Gill (level-two horsemanship).
DAY TWO
Midway again excelled in both splits of level-one horsemanship on the second say of competition.
Lauren Arens-Ennis won the first split, while
Stacey Geissler and Burns finishing in first and second respectively in split two.
Burns was one of five second-place riders Midway produced that day.Â
Gill again took second in level-two horsemanship, with Tullock getting second in ranch. Other runners-up were
Alana Utlak in open horsemanship and
Hannah Mullins in rookie B horsemanship.
Midway will not be in competition again for two months, returning for a second batch of shows at Morehead State University on Jan. 25-26.
The Eagles
earned reserve high point honors on day one and were in third-place on day two of a competition at Morehead on Nov. 2-3.
