CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Montez Moore took first in the triple jump while three of his teammates broke their own school records, as the Midway indoor track and field team secured a sixth-place finish at the Cedarville Collegiate Indoor Invite Friday.
The Eagles finished the 16-team event with 37.5 points.
Moore, who holds the program record in the triple jump, led all athletes with a distance of 13.38 meters Friday, coming in ahead of the 13.17 jump of Kane Cissell of Wittenberg (Ohio).
The senior from Louisville also finished fourth in the long jump with a distance of 6.48 meters.
Two weeks after winning his first collegiate indoor race, freshman Carson Milner had another great day in the 3,000-meter run, placing second in 9:04.70.
Elsewhere, Austin Ratliff, Jacob Kocis and Zac Cox all topped previous program-high marks, with Ratliff and Cox breaking records they themselves had set.
Ratliff finished fourth in the pole vault at 4.01 meters, 0.16 higher than the mark he set one week prior at the Steemer Showcase.
In the one-mile race, Kocis finished sixth in 4:22.98, topping the previous record of 4:28.80 set by his brother Josiah Kocis last December.
Cox ran the 400 in 52.60 seconds to finish seventh. His previous program high was 52.74 at the Center College Indoor Showcase on Jan. 20.
Midway also got points from Abdul Salaah, who was eighth in both the 60 (7.04) and 200 (23.61).
With the River States Indoor Championships just two weeks away, the Eagles have one more tune-up next week, when they will travel to Danville, Ky. for the Centre College Indoor Invite.
