Eagle men earn second ever indoor T&F win at MSJ Open

CINCINNATI, Ohio - Midway earned the second first-place team finish in the history of the men's indoor track and field program Saturday, snagging two wins and 11 top-five finishes at the Mount Saint Joseph Alumni Open in Cincinnati.

The Eagles finished with 109 points, six more than Wilmington (Ohio) and eight more than Mount Saint Joseph. It was the program's first win since a first-place showing at the Ohio Christian Trailblazer Invitational on Feb. 6, 2021.

For the third time this season, Midway got a victory from Carson Milner in a distance event. This time Milner, a two-time recipient of the River States Conference Runner of the Week Award this season, won the 3,000-meter run in 8:41.60.

Milner was part of two second-place relays as well, teaming with Connor Byrd, Steven Meyer and Noah Hampton in the 4x800 (12:15.07) and the 4,000 distance medley (12:15.07)

He was joined in victory on the field side by Brayden Carson, who took first in the high jump with a height of 1.90 meters. Carson was joined near the top by teammate Harry Van Why IV, who finished third at 1.85.

The Eagles had two of the top-three finishes in triple jump as well, with Ben Jones getting second at 12.21 and Latavian Hamilton third at 12.15.
