Women's bowling takes part in Intercollegiate Team Championships

FORT WORTH, Texas - Leading up to its first-ever appearance in the NAIA National Championships, the Midway women's bowling team took part in the Intercollegiate Team Championships Sectional Qualifier over the weekend.

In the two-day tournament that concluded on Sunday, the Eagles placed 12th with a 64-game score of 11,582. 

Midway's top showing came during games 33-48 Saturday, where its 2,972 pins were the sixth most of any team and lifted the Eagles into 10th place. But they would drop two spots over the final 16 games, in which they accumulated a score of 2,762.

The Eagles were the top team in game 19, where they knocked down 267 pins, 14 more than second-place Tulane (La.).

Midway will now turn its attention to the biggest tournament in program history, when it travels to Sterling Heights, Mich. for the NAIA Women's Bowling National Bowling Championships on March 21-23.
